Nosotros had a lot of fun with letter F! With grandparents in boondocks at the end of the week, we didn't get to equally many activities as I'd take liked. But nosotros were able to squeeze in some activities fifty-fifty every bit I spent several days cleaning the firm and preparing for our guests.
Letter of the alphabet F Activities
I always start the calendar week reading our printable books for each letter. Likewise this letter F volume, which comes with the wonderful Learning the Alphabet curriculum, we read my Little Letter F volume of rhymes and songs, plus our letter book with photographs.
I cut out the pictures from Learning the Alphabet, and my Three glued them to the capital letter letter F. As we do this nosotros always talk about the pictures and emphasize the outset sound. "Foot! /f/, /f/, human foot."
My Three was tired of using office stickers for my dot pages, so this week we changed information technology up and used Do a Dot markers on our F is for Fish page.
I printed these pictures from Learning the Alphabet, and my Vii cut them into puzzles for her younger brother. This sort of matter can exist very frustrating for my Three considering he can't go on the pieces lined up exactly. So I put gum on the back and we glued them onto cardstock as he pieced them together.
Notation to cocky: next time put glue on the cardstock and not on the dorsum of the pictures. That way the pictures tin can be more easily adjusted.
He dotted the F'due south on this folio from Learning the Alphabet.
My Three was very resistant to making balls out of play dough, but I kept showing him how to do it and encouraging him to give information technology a try. Presently he was having a great time making round fish bubbles with me.
I had hoped to do some alphabetic character formation practice with straight objects (since letter F is an easy one to build), simply we just didn't have time. No thing – this activity was a wonderful ane for strengthening those muscles that will eventually be used for writing!
My Iii asked several times this week if he could do a "pwoject." I confess that with all the training for my in-laws' arrival, I just didn't accept the time or desire to practice a lot of messy activities. But he was thrilled to make this newspaper plate fish. He painted the plate all by himself while I was making dinner. I was very surprised that he had the patience to do the whole affair! We did the residuum of the fish later the pigment had dried. Check out the residual of our letter F craft ideas.
He named the numbers on this Learning the Alphabet printable as he dotted them.
These fish bubble counting mats were a big hitting! I got out some articulate drinking glass gems, and he counted the bubbles as he covered them with gems. Such a fun learning activity!
For our sensory play activity, I put some stale beans and rice in a bin and pulled out our Schleich toy animals. I held up an fauna, and he told me whether or non information technology was a farm animal. If it was a farm animal, it got a place in our farm in a box. I was pleased past how well he did with this, specially since it wasn't long ago that he was mixing up raccoons and kangaroos!
We always like to bring information technology back to the whole alphabet! This week nosotros did this puzzle find activeness from I Can Teach My Child. This kept him decorated for a long fourth dimension!
Finally, we love to read books that feature our letter of the week. Here are some of our favorites for Letter F, with The Birthday Fish getting my personal vote for the best book! You can run into many more books for letter F in our letter of the week volume listing.
